The pair grabbed each other as they tussled in the back of the Blades' net, and players from both sides joined in as a brawl ensued.

Marriott and Wrexham's emotions were understandable, following a game in which they were eventually outclassed by their Championship opponents. The score was 1-1 at half-time, Will Boyle giving Phil Parkinson's side a surprise lead, but Sheffield United quickly equalised through USMNT defender Auston Trusty before turning the screw in the second half.

It's not the first time these two clubs have clashed. Back in the 2022-23 season the pair met in the FA Cup, with Blades striker Billy Sharp accusing the then-National League side of "disrespect" in the build-up to their fourth-round tie.
