Needing 81 more runs for the win, Martin Love guided them home with 49 not out. In the matches completed yesterday, Graeme Hick and Andy Bichel led Worcestershire to a five-wicket victory against Gloucestershire at Cheltenham. Hick scored 178, and Bichel 103 not out, as the pair added 189 in Worcestershire’s comfortable win. Elswehere in Division One, a century from David Fulton wasn’t enough to prevent defeat for Kent, who went down by 119 runs to Middlesex at Southgate, while Dinesh Mongia secured the draw for Lancashire with an unbeaten century against Warwickshire.In Division Two, Jason Gallian scored 120 not out to guide Notts to an eight-wicket win against Essex at Southend. Kevin Pietersen, who scored a century in the first innings, chipped in with an unbeaten 69. There was an early finish at Cardiff, where Shane Warne took 6 for 65 as Hampshire beat Glamorgan, and Yorkshire were forced to settle for a draw against Derbyshire, closing 17 runs short of victory.
