Duncan Fearnley, the former Worcestershire player and chairman, has agreed to stay away from New Road following what is reported as “a couple of drink-related incidents” at the ground.Fearnley is understood to have apologised to the county’s committee and agreed to stay away for the remainder of the season.As chairman, Fearnley, who became a millionaire through his international-famous bat-manufacturing company, was instrumental in bringing big names – such as Ian Botham and Graham Dilley – and trophies to Worcestershire in the 1980s.
